Illuminate is a series of photos taken with a 55mm DSLR for my advanced independent study during my final semester at Morehead State University. This series was completely photographed inside of my house during a time when classes were almost all exclusively online due to COVID-19. I wanted to experiment with long exposure night photography and adapted to my surroundings. Using Procreate on my iPad to design neon backgrounds, a television screen, a sheet of glass, a glass baking dish, water, vegetable oil, and my closest friends, I was able to create a portfolio of photographs that I am extremely proud of. To me, these images portray a sence of confinement that we all felt during isolation.
